Attractions
National Museum of Bermuda
The National Museum of Bermuda (NMB) is a cultural treasure nestled within the historic Royal Naval Dockyard, offering sweeping ocean views and a deep dive into Bermuda’s maritime, military, and social history. It’s housed in The Keep, Bermuda’s largest fort, and includes the iconic Commissioner’s House—the world’s first cast-iron residential building.
Commissioner’s House
Sitting high on the hill of the Keep Fort, the wrap-around verandahs of the House offer panoramic views of the Royal Naval Dockyard and the countless blues of the surrounding ocean. It is the ultimate setting for cocktails, wedding ceremonies, receptions, or a dinner to impress. The three-story Georgian building features grand dining rooms, impressive art, mahogany crown moldings, french doors, and crystal chandeliers.
BIOS Lecture and Experience
BIOS—the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences—is a fascinating hub of marine and atmospheric research located on the eastern end of Bermuda near St. George’s. It is part of Arizona State University’s Global Futures Laboratory and has been a cornerstone of ocean science for over 120 years.
We will have an immersive morning where you’ll step into the role of a scientist as we partner with BIOS researchers to explore cutting‑edge work in ocean health and climate science. This hands‑on experience includes a brief boat expedition to collect live plankton samples, followed by a lab session to identify these vital organisms under the microscope. You’ll discover why plankton—though microscopic—are essential to life in the ocean and on our planet.
It’s a rare opportunity to gain direct insight into ocean chemistry while seeing firsthand why Bermuda is an essential hub for understanding our changing seas.
